    1 d. black, plate 1a, horizontal pair HC-HD, HD showing re-entry, good to large margins and tied by red Maltese Crosses to entire, faint 'T.P./ Grays Inn' on front and a fine strike of the London '30 May 1840' datestamp for dispatch on reverse, addressed to Ludlow. Very fine, multiples used on May date covers are very rare.
