    Mulready 1d. black letter-sheet, stereo A24 (partly covered by seal), vertical filing crease, otherwise very fine, cancelled with red Maltese Cross, "LICHFIELD MY 7 1840" c.d.s. on reverse for dispatch, London datestamp "8 MY 8 / 1840" for arrival, a rare Second day of issue provincial usage! Not recorded in Mike Jackson's 'May Dates' (1999).
