1872: Paris print 10 b. blue, 15 b. deep brown and 25 b. yellowish bistre (2) all tied to pre-UPU June 1875 envelope to Athens by BACAU datestamps in black and paying the full tariff for mail to Greece of 75 bani (the cover was presumably held at the P.O. awaiting full payment, as the 10 b. is cancelled a day after the other three stamps). Endorsed "via Varna" at upper left the reverse shows transits of Bucharest, Galatz, Constantinople and Piraeus; and charged for local delivery with Greece March 1875 40 lepta black & green Postage Due (Mi 6) tied by dotted "1" numeral in black. An exceptional and most unusual cover - only a small time period of possible usage as both countries joined the UPU in July 1875. Certificate Heimbüchler (2012).
