1800 (Dec 10): Prepaid entire letter from Buga to Popayan, distance 47 leagues / 373 kms., struck with framed BUGA handstamp in brown (Tizon 1 = RRR) with over-inked FRANCA (Tizon 4 = RRR) alongside. Manuscript "1½" reales at left for a single letter up to ½ ounce. Exceptional and rare, the earliest recorded marking from Buga.
