    Imperial Airways Crash of Short S.23 'CHALLENGER' at Mozambique Harbour, 1 May 1939: Two covers from London and Southend-on-Sea to South Africa, one with the special "DAMAGED BY SEAWATER / SEAPLANE 'CHALLENGER'" cachet, the other with "FLYING BOAT CORRESPONDENCE DAMAGED BY SEAWATER / / VLIEGBOT KORRESPONDENSIE DEUR SEEWATER BESKADIG" cachet, both in violet, the adhesives have washed off, each cover mounted neatly upon an album page, written-up, one with newspaper cutting showing the flying-boat part submerged and the other with an image of the plane intact on water, an attractive duo.
