    1915 (Jan): German East Africa 45 h. black & mauve, handstamped "G.R. / MAFIA" in reddish violet, a fine unused block of four, marginal from top of sheet, all handstamped but very light impressions (and misplaced on lower left stamp), two additionally initialled "JDM" by Lt. Col. J.D. Mackay, Governor of Mafia Island in manuscript ink. Fresh appearance and very rare, large part og. with lower pair unmounted og. Probably just 200 stamps overprinted in total, a rare and exceptional multiple. Illustrated in Gibbs on page 244.
