1986 (Jan. 28) Space Shuttle STS-51-L "Challenger" - Launch Cover signed by crew members Scobee, Smith, Resnik, Onizuka, McNair and first teacher S. Christa McAuliffe on airmail envelope franked with vert. pair of 'Health Research' 20c. tied by KSC machine cancel (Jan. 28 AM), bearing special cancels 'First Shuttle /"Pad B" Launch' in black and '25th Space / Shuttle Launch / Mission 51-L' in violett alongside. Very Fine. McAuliffe was chosen among 11,000 applicants to be the first teacher in space and had been scheduled to conduct two classes while in space. Greg Jarvis signature was added later, by someones other hand just to be ment to complete the crew signatures, as Jarvis was a late addition to the flight.
