    1847, Franklin, 5 c. red-brown, imperforate, USA first issue, good to large margins with part right sheet margin, vivid printing, used on fragment in combination with Canada, 1851, 3 p. red, imperforate, first issue, printed on laid paper, full to large margins, bright shade, tied by the Canadian seven ring target cancel, a red 'Kingston U.C.' datestamp 4 June 1851 in red alongside and handstruck "10" mark in red, there is a vertical crease affecting the 5 c. which has a tone spot in bottom right margin, very rare mixed franking, cancelled in Canada to pay the new treaty rate, an important piece of North American postal history.rnrnReferance: "The Postage Stamps and Postal History of Canada", by Winthrop S.
