Crown over A, the phenomenal collection with shades, varieties and multiples (many ex the John Lancaster collection) including ½ d. green (67) incl. blocks of four or larger (9) including block of four perf. compound 11 and 12 and two single examples and a vertical pair, upright wmk. ½ d.perf. 11, extensive range of 1 d. red (107) with blocks of four or larger (13) incl. a "JBC" monogram block, many items with imperf. between stamp and margin or wwith diouble perforation varieties, marginal singles (2) and three blocks of four compound perf. 11 and 12 (Gi 250d), "CA" monogram single; 2 d. plum (60) incl. blocks of four (4) and six (1) with many ex Lancaster collection and astudy of perf. 12½ x 11 settings, 3 d. brown (7), 6 d. carmine (19) incl. a Cooke monogram single and block of four etc. An extensive and generally very fine collection (145 items).
