    1840: 1 d. black, plate 2, lettered PB, a used example, matched with 1841 1 d. red-brown on blued, lettered PB, each with close to large margins all round and each cancelled by Maltese Crosses in black. Both showing the prominent variety "recut letter squares" and faint check letter "P", one 1 d. black vertical crease otherwise fine.  Scarce pairing Gi AS14d+AS17e = £ 850.rnrn
