    1810 (Oct 30): Entire letter from Madras to Pondichery addressed "Monsieur de Malavois, ancien commandant de Seychelles, Directeur Général of the Estates and Salt Flats in Pondichery" with fair only framed "Post Paid / St. George" (Hammond Giles type 4) in black and handstamped date "30 Oct" at right in black. Rated "1½" fanams in manuscript for inland postal rate (tariff of 1799). Illustrated in the London Philatelist, vol. 119, page 335.
