    1851 (April 21): Prepaid stampless entire letter to Albury struck with octagonal framed "YASS / POST PAID" in red. Endorsed 'prepaid' and rated '2d.' in red manuscript. Reverse with oval framed "YASS / ♚ / NEW S. WALES" datestamp (April 24) in black. A superb and scarce entire ex the Evans correspondence, the contents (full transcription enclosed) relate to marrying off Mr. W.B. Evans "My opinion is she would make a nice wife but I rather think she is too young for you, excuse me I don't wish you to have an old one neither a widow...she is the daughter of Entwhistle the hotel keeper...has no suitor that I am aware of but just at that susceptible age to be gained by one".rnProvenance: RL, London, 7 May 1985, lot 23; Collection Sir Miles Rivett-Carnac, Spink, London, 23 Sept 2004, lot 14.
