    Lithographed by Transfer 1871/78: Lithographed 1 d. vermilion-red, perf. 15, a vertical pair used on 1879 cover to New York (Maynard correspondence) tied by oily strikes of the "A09" obliterator with manuscript '2' in red crayon at left and fine NEVIS cds at left (Nov 29) in black. Reverse with Danish P.O. in St. Thomas transit cds (Dec 5) and 'New York / Paid All' arrival (Dec 15). The adhesives applied at top of envelope and the lower stamp creased on application and barely noticeable. A rare cover at the newly introduced UPU rate - introduced in October 1879 and lasting until October 1880 only. Cert. BPA (1969).
