    1861: Mexico District 2 r. black on pink, an attractive horizontal strip of three used on 1864 cover to Paris all tied by "FRANCO / MEXICO" datestamps (Schatzkes fig. 821) in black paying the Extraordinario internal rate to Vera Cruz. Carried by French ship with fine "MEXICO" Consular octagonal cachet (April 14) in blue at left (Salles fig. 1361) and carried on the "Floride". Taxed '16' décimes in manuscript for a double rate letter on arrival (May 12). A rare franking of superb appearance. Signed Todd AIEP. Cert. RPSL (2001).
