Sardinia 1860 (Nov 16): Cover from Iglesias, Sardinia to Ajaccio, Corsica, bearing IV. issue 10 c. 'bruno cioccolato scuro' and 40 c. 'rosso mattone', two fine and fresh examples with good to large margins all round, tied by clear IGLESIAS despatch cds (Sassone CA = 7 punti) in black, framed "FRANCOBOLLO INSIFFICIENTE" alongside. Reverse with SASSARI transit and AJACCIO arrival (Nov 21) cds's. Upon arrival taxed with '7' décimes. Lightest horizontal filing fold well away from the adhesive, some acid ink in the address, nevertheless an attractive and interesting shipmail cover full of postal history. Signed Vaccari; certs. E.
