    1840: 1 d. black, plate 2, lettered FA, a used example with close to huge margins all round, tied to 1840 entire letter from Greenock top Paris, France by red Maltese Cross, the balance of the rate '10' (pence marked twice on the face of the entire in manuscript but left unpaid. Reverse with GREENOCK despatch and London transit (Dec 16) cds in red. "Angl. / Calais" cds in red and charged on arrival '20' décimes due (10d. sterling + 10 décimes Calais-Paris). The adhesive with two small creases at top of no great significance on such a rare and attractive entire. Cert.
