    1853: 20 c. blue with close margins at bottom right used on 1857 cover to Nancy, tied by grill with circular "CORPS EXPEDITIONNAIRE D'ITALIE / 1E DIVISION" cds (March 7) alongside. Reverse with transit and arrival datestamps. The French troops were in Italy to protect the Pope.
