    1877: 5 c. lake rouletted, two examples, used on 1880 cover to Caravaggio, Italy tied by 'Santiago' cds's (Feb 23) in black with deleted 'INUTIL' handstamp below the adhesives. Three line dated "PANAMA / TRANSIT" in black (March 20) and carried by British Packet via London with transit (April 23) in red on reverse. Strick there with "T / 1-10" handstamp in blue and charged on arrival with 1870 Postage Due 30 c., three examples tied by Caravaggio cds's (April 26). Tiny imperfections but a rare usage.
