    Mulready Caricatures 1840: Fores's "Racing Envelope No. 5", printed in black, a used example appropriately mailed to Cheltenham with manuscript "1" to denote pre-payment and double arc 'Christchurch' despatch cds in black. London Tombstone transit in red (Dec 26, 1840) and reverse with double arc 'Cheltenham' arrival cds in red. Small unobtrusive repair to envelope at top right, ironed and part of flap missing but just 6 used examples recorded in 'British Pictorial Envelopes' by Bodily, Jarvis & Hahn.
