    Surcharged by the 'West Indian Press' 1878 (March 28): Provisional 1 d. on half 5 s. rose, perf. 15½ x 15, surcharge reading up, two separated used examples formerly a pair, both stamps showing '1' with curved serif (Type 3a), cancelled by 'Barbados' cds (March 30, 1878) in black. Scarce and most unusual Gi = £ 1'300.
