    1840: Entire letter from Dublin to London with fine oval "IMPERIAL HOTEL / POST PAID / DUBLIN" cachet in greenish black with manuscript '2' in red below, circular MORE / TO / PAY in red re-weighed and charged '6' in red manuscript, accompanied by framed 'PAID / APR. 27E / 1840' despatch in red. London arrival in red at left (April 29). A scarce entire, believed to be the earliest known Irish Hotel cover.
