    Peru 1853: 10 c. bistre, 20 c. blue, 40 c. orange and a spectacular horizontal strip of seven 80 c. carmine, all stamps with four margins, used on 1855 triple weight cover from Le Havre to Lima, Peru; cancelled by 1495 petit chiffres with 'Bureau Maritime / Havre' cds in red below (Feb 23) and framed 'P.P.' in red. Framed FOREIGN PAID in greenish ink on front and reverse with both London and Southampton (March 1) transits alongside circular 'Vapor / Lima' arrival in blue. A superb and rare cover. Signed A.
