    1872/73: 6 d. pale blue, a horizontal pair of fine impression used on 1872 envelope from Kaiapoi to Milan, Italy endorsed 'via Suez & Brindisi' tied by bold strikes of numeral "16" obliterators in black. Reverse with KAIAPOI despatch and Christchurch cds (March 1), Dunedin cds (March 7), Brindisi cds (May 9) and Milan arrival cds.
