    "4" Surcharges 1877: "4" on 6 d. rose, surcharged Type 2d, used example on 1878 combination cover to London, tied by faint numeral "1" cancellation with BLOEMFONTEIN / O.V.STAAT cds on reverse and by Cape of Good Hope 6 d. mauve (Gi. 25b) tied by bold barred "1" numeral in black with 'Cape Town / Cape Colony' cds at left (April 1). Reverse with London arrival cds (april 29) in black. Some tears to envelope and into the wing margin of the Cape 6 d. but a rare franking. Cert. RPSL (1970).
