    1902/03: 4 d. deep rose & maize, wmk. Crown CA, the famous horizontal pair, variety "perf. 14 x Imperforate Vertically Between", marginal from left of sheet, also "Imperforate between stamp and margin" and second stamp perf. 14 vertically at right, some 'v' shaped creasing and colour from sheet stored below on large part og. A major rarity, there are believed to be but two pairs known: Gibbons state 'from a Proof sheet' which is eminently probable, however this does not explain the lack of furher copies coming to light in the past thirty years (we record two pairs) or the lack of an example in the "De La Rue Collection". A splendid and extremely rare pair Gi = formerly listed as Gi 139a, unpriced.
