    Emblems Issue 1857 (May 25): 2 d. pale lilac, imperforate on medium wove paper of good quality, a fine horizontal pair used on 1858 OHMS cover from 'Camp Ararat' to Melbourne tied by circular "93" numeral obliterator of Ararat. Reverse with 'Ararat / Victoria' datestamp (June 11), Ballarat transit and Melbourne arrival (June 14). Some unobtrusive spike holes in the cover but with full contents enclosed regarding the writer's son, on his way from England, who is 'a first rate draughtsman and photogrpaher and would be very useful to me in expediting my plans of Ararat Gold Fields...'.rnrnProvenance: Collection J.
