    1847: Franklin 5 c. dark brown on blued paper, a fine used example with large margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at base, tied to 1849 cover to Northampton, Massachusetts by manuscript pen cross and PAID handstamp in red. Repeated strike of PAID left and 'HARTFORD CT. / 5' cds at right (April 216). Two file folds well away from the adhesive, a fine cover. Signed Jakubek Scott = $ 450.
