    1839 (Dec 11): Double weight entire letter written from New London, Connecticut to Paris mailed via the 'British Queen' of the British & American Steam Navigation Co., struck on reverse with fine LIVERPOOL / SHIP LETTER handstamp in black and charged '3 s.' due in manuscript. Forwarded on to Paris with 'Angl. / Calais' cds in red on front (Jan 15, 1840) and again charged '56' décimes due. Letter collected and carried by a traveller from Venice to Constantinople where the entire was disinfected with his belongings at the Constantinople Quarantine Station with rastel punches and struck with circular negative seal TAAHUFFUZ HANE-I / DARUS-SAL-TANAT / US-SENIYE in black (Sanitary Office of the Sovereignty 255). The entire being accompanied by the 'Bolletino Prefilatelico e Storico Postale' from June 2010 where this and the other known entire letter is discussed.
