    Ballon Monté No. 59 1871 (Jan 11): Entire letter to Ruschlikon, Zurich, Switzerland endorsed 'par Ballon Monté', franked by 1863/67 30 c. brown, tied by Paris Star 24 (initially struck in error in red) with 'Paris' datestamp (Jan 11, 3rd levée) in black with framed 'PD' in red. Flown from beseiged Paris on the Ballon "Le Général Faidherbe" with Ruschlikon arrival cds (Jan 19) on reverse and forwarded on to Basel with arrival. A fine and scarce entire Maury = € 500+.
