    Ballon Monté No. 41 1870 (Dec 9): Entire letter to Blidah, Algeria endorsed 'Par Ballon Monté', franked by Siège 1870 20 c. blue, tied by bold "241" gros chiffres of Auteil with 'Paris / Auteil' datestamp (Dec 9, 5th levée) alongside in black. Flown from beseiged Paris on the Ballon "Le Général Renault" with 'Lyon a Avignon' cds (Dec 21) and Blidah arrival cds (Dec 25) on reverse. A very scarce destination and a most attractive entire.
