    Ballon Monté No. 33 1870 (Nov 23): Entire letter (minutely written long letter) to Torino, Italy endorsed 'par Ballon Monté', franked by Siège 1870 40 c. orange, tied by mute Paris Star with 'Paris / 60' datestamp (Nov 23, 3rd levée) alongside in black (over erroneous 'P.P.' in black) and correct framed 'PD' in red at left. Flown from beseiged Paris on the Ballon "La Ville D'Orleans" which crashed in Norway after a 23½ journey. Reverse with Torino eventual arrival cds (Dec 24, a month later). A rare destination for this ill-fated flight. Signed Brun Maury = € 1'750+.
