    Ballon Monté No. 22 1870 (Oct 31): Entire letter to Warsaw, Poland endorsed 'par Ballon', franked by 1863/67 80 c. carmine, tied by Paris Star with 'Paris / R. St. Lazare' cds (Oct 31, 6th levée) alongside and red framed 'PD'. Flown from beseiged Paris on the Ballon "Le Fulton" with manuscript ''Wfr 2' in red crayon at lower left. Some acid ink faults but a rare destination for Ballon mail. Signed Calves Maury = € 25'000.
