    Ballon Monté No. 5 1870 (Sept 25): Entire letter to Dieppe endorsed franked by 1863/67 20 c. blue, tied by Paris Star 25 with 'Paris / Rue Serpente' cds (Sept 25, 4th levée) alongside. Flown from beseiged Paris on the Ballon "Le Nom-Dénommé No. 1" with Dieppe cds (Oct 22) arrival cds on reverse. Readdressed from Dieppe to Brussels and struck with framed AFFRANCCHISEMENT / INSUFFISANT in red as internal rate only prepaid. 'France / Midi' cds, Ixelles cds (Oct 24) and Bruxelles arrival cds on reverse, charged '3' décimes due upon receipt. Interesting content "un essai de faire partir des lettres au moyen de Ballons qui partent de la butte Montmartre..". Displays well, a fine and unusual entire Maury = € 650.
