    Ballon Monté No. 3 1870 (Sept 26): Entire letter to Elbeuf, franked by 1863/67 20 c. blue, creased, tied by Paris Star 16 with 'Paris / Rue de Palestro' datestamp (Sept 25, 5th levée) alongside in black. Flown from beseiged Paris on the Ballon "Les Etats-Unis" with 'Paris a Caen' cds (Oct 1) and Elbeuf arrival cds (Oct2) on reverse. Faults but scarce Maury = € 775.
