Apart 1914 (Dec 16): 2 s. on 2 m. blue, Setting 3, position 1, the famous used example, centred to right, of good rich colour, showing variety "Surcharge Double, One Inverted",cancelled by small part RABAUL / NEW BRITAIN datestamp struck in violet (Gibbs type 8). An exceedingly rare stamp, Gibbs records just 3 used examples on page 121 of the handbook, this being the fourth example known (of the used examples, one is in the collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, one ex Brown and one ex Bute).
