1881: De La Rue Essay for the Internal Revenue issue, handpainted in mauve on tracing paper, 77 x 77 mm., with WESTERN AUSTRALIA in mauve and INTERNAL REVENUE and circular frame all picked out in Chinese white, perforations in pencil, alongside four proposed value tablets for 1 s., 2 s., 5 s., 7 s. 6 d., 10 s., and 15 s. values at left, marked 'B' and dated at top 'June 8th/81'.
