    1850 (Sept): 2 d. ultramarine, Plate III, positions 1-2/13, the famous 'L' shaped unused multiple, showing full sheet margin at left and with full margins on all sides, trivial scissor cut affecting position 1 at lower right, in a greyish-violet hue from the full original browned gum which is somewhat thick in places, minor creasing as to be expected, however a wonderful and philatelically important piece, being the sole recorded unused multiple from Plate III. Illustrated in the G. J. Hutson RPSL handbook and in the Robson Lowe Encyclopaedia on page 27. A magnificent rarity for the connoisseur Gi = £ 24'000+.rnrnProvenance: Collection 'V. P.
