    Mail from Italy to Greece 1869: Cover at double rate from Catania (Sicily) to a Mr. Colla in Patras, franked by Italy 1867 20 c. blue in a horizontal strip of three, one stamp rounded corner, tied by dotted '8' numerals in black, underpaid 20 c. and struck with framed AFFRANCATURA / INSUFFICIENTE in black. Charged on arrival with manuscript '22' (lepta) due to pay and franked by 1868 20 l. pale blue and 1862/67 2 l. brown tied by 'Patras' cds's (Sept 13, julian) in black. Rate breakdown: Unfranked letter 90 lepta, less 68 lepta (the 60 centesemi franking) = 22 lepta to pay. Reverse with Italian 'Don't forget the stamps' in manuscript alongside Messina cds, Athens and Patras cds's. A remarkable and extremely rare franking.
