    1871: ½ r. ultramarine on surface blued paper, Fifth Printing, an example with touched margins but good rich colour, tied to 1873 cover to Quito endorsed '1 ounce' in manuscript, by scarce usage of lozenge of 64 dots struck in red with corresponding RIOBAMBA / FRANCA datestamp alongside (March 22). File fold but an attractive cover. Opinion Holcombe (1994).
