    1865: Cuza 2 pa. lemon-yellow on white wove paper, single example, two vertical pairs and a horizontal strip of five, all used to pay the 20 parale single rate on 1865 cover from Braila to Focshani, neatly cancelled by six strikes of the grill obliterator in black. BRAILA despatch cds (3/6) in black on front (Kiriac fig. 368) and reverse with 'Focschani' arrival cds in black. This spectacular franking has a few faults and an unfortunate vertical cover tear running from the first stamp of the strip to the top of the pair which would probably benefit from sympathetic restoration; nevertheless an extraordinary cover of great rarity and unique.
