    British Guiana 1853: 1 fr. carmine, horizontal strip of three, clear to huge margins, used on 1854 double weight cover to Richard Haynes in Demerara, British Guiana to be forwarded on to Cuidad Bolivar, Venezuela tied by 'gros points' lozenge of dots with Paris despatch cds (April 14) above with framed PD in red. London Paid transit cds at right in red (April 18) and reverse with double arc DEMERARA datestamp (May 23) in black. The strip has been lifted from the cover for checking and replaced. A wonderful and extremely rare cover to an extraordinary destination for classic period French mail. Signed Baudot. Cert. Von Der Weid (1993).
