Colonial 1799 (July 26): Entire letter from Buenos Aires to Lima, Peru struck with fine "BUENOS / AYRES" handstamp in red, rated "4½" reales in manuscript. Slight acid ink fault but scarce so fine.
Colonial 1796c.: Cover front to the Customs Office in Chala, struck with straight line "YCA" handstamp in red-brown (Colareta fig. 1) and seemingly rated '8' reales in manuscript. A fine strike.
1868: 'Le Coq' 1 d. blue-green, five used examples, one corner fault, otherwise fine to very fine, showing variety "Frame Inverted", mostly neatly cancelled, great study lot of this rare variety. Scott = $ 6'000.
1908/1949: Decorative stationery, twenty-eight entires with a good range of overseas destinations and different designs, coastal scenes, gardens, farming, Esperanto, two with postage due. An "easy on the eye" lot.
Vera Cruz 1856: 8 r. red-lilac, a used example with large margins all round, cancelled by oval VERA CRUZ datestamp (28 Feb 1857) in black. A choice example. Signed A. Diena Scott = $ 200.
1856/1880: Four delightful small envelopes all of business card size, one franked Blood's Penny Post from Philadelphia the other three with USPS stamps, all untied but credible, attractive and scarce.
1854 (July): Lithographed by Gillet, 5 c. red-brown, a used example with large even margins all round, cancelled by target handstamp in black. Scarce Gi = £ 190/Scott = $ 300.
1850.: Unpaid cover to Caracas struck with very fine circular "CORREO DE VENEZUELA / VALENCIA / DEBE" in black with rate mark "1" alongside. Scarce. Ex the Brian Moorhouse estate.
