1902 (Feb 27): '8 CENTS 1902' on 10 cents dark red-brown & blue, a magnificent mint block of 90, marginal from right of sheet, showing position 51 with 'Inverted Frame' variety (Facit 26v3 = 5'000 skr.), four stamps with variety 'white dot between 'T' and 'S' (Facit 26v11), the large multiple somewhat fragile with extensive splitting but of excellent freshness and original colour, large part to mostly unmounted original gum. 1873/1902: Album pages with Numeral Issue set of nine 1 c. - 50 c. mint, 1896/1901 perf. 12¾ issue 1 c., 3 c. and 4 c. mint, 1887 surcharged 1 c. on 7 c. mint (2, one with inverted wmk.) and 10 c. on 50 c., majority fresh and fine (Facit = 19'000 skr.), plus a few Great Britain used with "C51" obliterator cancels of British P.O. in St. Thomas including 4 d. vermilion pl. 15 and an 1873 piece with GB bantam ½ d., 1 d. red and 1 s. green. 1872: Sailor's Letter endorsed at top "Edward Smith Cooper, HMS Reindeer, Arica, Peru" and counter-signed by Commanding Officer, mailed to Newton Abbot, Devon and franked by vertical pair of Great Britain 1865/79 1 d. red pl. 139, lower stamp with perfs. trimmed, tied in transit by "C51" obliterators of St. Thomas. Reverse with Newton Abbot arrival cds (Feb 12). Cover with closed opening tear at top, but a remarkable and very rare usage. Cert. RPS (1973).
