10 c. blue, a superb used horizontal pair, marginal from base of sheet, large margins all round and in a rich shade, neatly cancelled by part "La Mesa" in manuscript. Exceptional and rare, just three horizontal pairs are known of this stamp, strangely two are marginal pieces.

Mailed under the January 1862 new postal regulations, a wonderful and very scarce cover with only two known covers with a single 10 centavos franking, the plate variety being unique on letter. 20 c. red, the famous mint block of eighteen stamps from the top of sheet, positions 4-7/13-16/22-25/31-34/40-41; with position 40 showing the "Retouched 2" in "20". Fresh colour and, whilst creased between second and thrid row, hardly any defects of significance, with large part original gum. The largest recorded multiple of the 20 centavos and unique.

20 c. red, the magnificent piece bearing horizontal strip of three (positions 12-14), strip of five (positions 1-5) and a pair in a slightly darker shade (positions 8-9) all cancelled by fine strikes of oval pearled BOGOTÁ handstamps in black. Some minor vertical creasing of no importance, the strip of five being the second largest used multiple and the largest bearing a handstamp. 1 peso pink, the horizontal mint strip of four, sheet marginal from right, Laarsen positions 24-27, position 25 showing "U" of "UN" almost eradicated, the strip with huge margins on three sides and touched at top on three stamps, some minor creasing and large part original gum. Of great rarity, being one of the two largest mint multiples recorded.

A marvellous item of great importance - the largest known multiple of this stamp. A rarity of Colombian philately.

10 c. grey-blue, a fine large margined example on February 18, 1862 cover from Bogotá to Carlo Rasch in Ambalema, tied by bold strike of pearled BOGOTÁ handstamp in black. Docketing of receipt inside (Feb 21). One or two minor cover file folds but otherwise an immaculate and fresh cover. Extremely rare, there are just two covers known bearing this adhesive and just six covers known from the 1862 issue as a whole. An Exhibition item par excellence. Cert. Moorhouse (2012).

50 c. green, the famous mint marginal block of twelve, of outstanding fresh colour and with large margins all round, the sixth and seventh stamps with variety "M" of Colombia" does not touch the outer frame line. Large part original gum, with minor scissor cut between the eleventh and twelfth stamps at base in margin only, minor vertical bends and somewhat thinned at left, not greatly affecting the frontal appearance in any way. A wonderful multiple of immense rarity, the largest known multiple of the 1862 issue and the sole recorded mint block.

1 peso dull purple, on white wove paper, the superb used horizontal pair, the left hand stamp being the example used by Jean de Sperati for his famous Forgery (note the white slash just above the value tablet, replicated in the signed Die Proof of the forgery). The pair of genuine stamps is neatly cancelled by "Santander" in manuscript. An outstanding piece of detective philately by Dr. Goeggel, the pair being an exceptional and rare multiple.
