    2nd Afghan War 1880 (March 26): 1½ anna postal stationery card up-rated with further India ½ a. blue written from Gandamak and mailed to Dublin, Ireland; cancelled by clear strike of "F. No. 16" eight bar handstamp (recorded but not seen by Proud, and dated five months before the supposed example). Clear GANDAMAK datestamp at left and Bombay transit (April 3) alongside. Interesting content "No news from the Regiment since they went to Jagdallak but there is every possibility of their returning as the Forces have again been redistributed and we are to form a portion of the Safed Sang permanent Garrison during the hot weather with detachments at Rezabad and Fort Battaye...". Unique and rare usage.

    2nd Afghan War 1880 (March 31): 1½ anna postal stationery card up-rated with further India ½ a. blue written from Pezwan and mailed to Dublin, Ireland; cancelled by clear strike of "F. No. 13" eight bar obliterator (Proud K1) with extremely rare circular "FIELD P.O. No. 13" (Proud D2, earliest recorded usage) alongside (April 1). Bombay transit (April 9) alongside. Interesting content regarding a night attack "a number of shots were fired, we all turned out, expecting it to be the anticipated attack, but the men who were fired at bolted...". A rare card.

    1881 (Feb 1): Crested envelope for 22 Bombay Infantry, franked by India ½ a. blue tied by Belgaum duplex, endorsed "via Karachee" and addressed to "H.M. 1st Baluch Regiment, Kandahar, Southern Afghanistan". A fresh and fine incoming cover, Kandahar was evacuated on April 22, 1881.

    1928: King Amir Inayattulah Khan Royal visit to Turkey, Germany and Switzerland, the collection of 66 cards / original photographs, all used with adhesives on the photo side, the entire visit to each country represented. The visit to Ankara with 15 original photographs including snaps of Kemal Attaturk with the King and Queen, the visit to Berlin and Potsdam with 21 photo-cards including Hindenburg and the King reviewing troops etc., the visit to Switzerland with 30 photo-cards taken by Rohr & Keller of Bern. A wonderful and unique collection.
