1857 (Jan 10): Cover from Annapolis to La Spezzia, Kingdom of Sardinia, bearing 1856 Jefferson 5 c. brown imperf., a fine adhesive with good to large margins, shaved at base, tied by crisp "ANNAPOLIS Md." cds in black, "GB / 1F 60C" accountancy handstamp and French "ETATS-UNIS PAQ. BRIT. CALAIS 27 JANV. 57" entry cds, both in black alongside. Reverse with "BOSTON Br PKT 14 JAN" transit cds in black, LONDON transit cds in red and GENOVA transit datestamp in red (Jan 30 57). Charged upon arrival “10” (decimi), which include Sea rate, English and French transit and Sardinia postage, some staining, otherwise a fine and scarce usage to Sardinia. 1857/1930: Small accumulation of United States and areas oddments, many of which are unusual such as two post cards from China respectively dated 1919 and 1922, the former with censor. The Shanghai Overprints are represented to 40c, the 20c orange and 24 red both with clear parcel Roller 'SHANGHAI CHINA', Hawaiian postal stationery, nearly fifty private despatch stamps and several Telegraph proofs. Mollison on his first solo record flight from Dublin to New York, signed by himself with endorsed "Carried by me on first first Transatlantic solo East-West crossing'. On front with golden Dublin City Seal with adjacent endorsement of Alfred Byrne, Lord Mayor of Dublin' at left, plus another smaller red seal of St. John signed Jas. W. Britain Mayor of St. John, New Brunswick with endorsed 'received Aug.19/32'. On reverse with the golden New York City Seal and 'received at New York by T.H. 1931/32: Lou Reichers Atlantic Attempt Newark - Harbourg Grace - (Dublin - Paris) with his Lockheed Altair NR998Y, named 'Miss The Liberty", to beat Charles Lindbergh's record time with a crash landing 50 miles off the Irish coast. Souvenir cover from Newark (May 12 1931) signed by Lou Reichers, grouped with many newspapers clips, oringinal photographs of the plane and Lou Reichers. 1934 (Dec. 19): Amelia Earhart envelope No. 46/50 of her Trans-Atlantic Solo Record Flight New Foundland to Ireland 1932 (May 20/21), franked with Air Mail 5 c. tied by New York Grand Central duplex cancellation May 13, violet special cachet, additionally franked on arrival with GB 1½ d. with Londonderry cancellation (May 23), signed by the Avaitrix at lower left. Envelope returned to USA 1934 and saved from the American Airline crash while landing at Buffalo N.Y., December 19,1934 en route from Newark to Chicago with special cachet on reverse: "DAMAGE DUE TO / AIR MAIL INTERRUPTION / AT / BUFFALO NY DEC 19 1934" in violet.
