1847 (April 30): Entire letter from Montevideo to Cadiz, Spain, sent unpaid without any Uruguayan postmark, Cadiz arrival cds in red (July 19) on reverse, charged with "5 Rs." due to pay in red. Obverse struck in addition by YNDIAS handstamp in red, a rare usage as only five covers originating in Uruguay are known with this Spanish mark. Cert.
