    Bull's Eyes 1843: 60 reis black, Early Impression with good to mostly large margins all round, position 1 from the first plate of 60 adhesives, used on May 15, 1844 entire letter from St. Joao del Rei, Minas Geraes to Rio de Janeiro, tied by large straight line "S. JOAO . DEL REI" handstamp in brownish black (Ayres 1170). An attractive cover, cert. Moorhouse (2005).rnNote: Cover belongs to a correpondence from Sao Joao del Rey to Rio de Janeiro, decribed in Juchert - Bull's Heads on page 248 of which until today 24 letters are known to exist, this one not yet included.

    Dom Pedro 1866: 80 r. slate violet perforated, two single examples used on Dec 10, 1877 entire letter from Pernambuco to Figueira, Portugal, tied by segmented cork handstamp in black with PERNAMBUCO despatch cds alongside. Company cachet at left with endorsement for French Packet "Rio Grande", superb French "PERNAMBUC / PAQ. FR. J No 6 10 DEC 75" shipmail cds in red alongside. Handstruck '300' (reis) due in black on obverse, reverse with 'P. TRANSATLANTICO 26 DEZ. 75' cds in red. An attractive entire.

    Dom Pedro 1866: 500 r. orange perforated in combination with 1878/79 20 r. violet rouletted, two single examples used on Nov 27, 1877 double rate cover from Porto Allegre to Marseilles, tied by segmented cork handstamp in blue with "PORTO ALLEGRE" despatch cds alongside. Reverse with Rio Grande and Rio de Janeiro transit cds's as well as Belgian "BRESIL PAQ: BELGE 1 JANV. 78" shipmail cds. Obverse with French entry cds in black, reverse with indistinct MARSEILLE arrival (Jan 3, 1878) cds's. Cover slightly soiled, nevertheless a most interesting item sent with Belgian shipmail from Brazil, cert. Moorhouse (2005).

    Dom Pedro 1878/79: 10 r. vermilion, 20 r. violet, 50 r. blue and 200 r. black (light pre-use corner fold), four rouletted single examples used on Feb 12, 1878 cover from Santarém to Medford, tied by 'pinwheel' cork handstamp in black with SANTAREM despatch cds in black and "MEDFORD N. J." arrival (March 15) cds in blue alongside. Reverse with transit cds's of Pará, New York and Philadelphia. A most attractive four-colour franking paying correctly the 280 reis rate to the United States.

    Dom Pedro 1878/79: 700 r. red-brown rouletted, a pristine single franking used on July 2, 1882 envelope from Rio de Janeiro to Zürich, endorsed "via London", the adhesive tied by double ring "RIO-DE-JANEIRO / 13a SECCAOIOS" despatch cds. Reverse with London transit and Zürich arrival (Aug 10, 1882) cds's. A very rare isolated usage Scott = $ 3'500 on cover.
