    1896: 10 c. blue used on 1898 cover to France endorseds "via New York"  tied by large oval "Republica Major de Centro America / Corinto" datestamp (Jan 28) in violet with circular "T / CORINTO" handstamp adjacent. Reverse with "N.Y. / Foreign Transit" cds in black (Feb 11) taxed on arrival with 1893 Postage Due 15 c. yellow-green (2) each tied by Etampes cds (Feb 22). A rare and fine cover.

    1896: Official 10 c. orange optd. 'Franqueo / Oficial' in blue, used on 1896 cover to the Nicaraguan Consul in Paris, tied by "Correos de Nicaragua / Corinto" duplex in blue (Oct 29). Paris arrival cds (Dec 3) and triangular "T" mark alongside manuscript "2 p(ortes) / 1 f." and taxed with 1893 Postage Due 50 c. lilac brown pair tied by triangular handstamps in black. Reverse with superb "Ministero de Relaciones Exteriores de Nicaragua" cachet in black. An exceptional franking - the Offical issues of Nicaragua are rarities on letter.
