1856/57: Perkins Bacon Die Proofs on card paper (4), reprinted from the rejected Die of the 6 d. value without inscriptions, the central vignette carefully inserted, four examples in varying sizes but showing the engine turning fancy surround on each, printed in carmine, deep green, scarlet and orange-vermilion. TAS, two "used" examples created by Jean de Sperati, by photo lithography - taking the entire design and blanking over the Duty Plate, and then photographing the £ 1 Duty Plate and inserting the two together; a the First State £ 1 with "..STOWN / TASMANIA" datestamp (April 11, 1902) in black, unfortunately with damaged perfs. at base; and a Second State of the Forgery with partial "Lau(nceston) / Tasm(ania)" cds (No.. 190..) in black, perf. 13¾, this purchased from Sperati himself in 1956 and showing two white dots removed from the Greek border at lower left and the green in a faded state (not apparently considered good enough to sell).Ausruf : 1.000,00 CHFZuschlag : nicht verkauft -
